Detox Water Vs Juice, Is One Better Than The Other?

Last Updated November 7, 2017 By Michelle Nader

Toxins are all around us. The heavy use of chemicals at
homes and commercial enterprises makes the air we breathe, the food we take and
even the ground upon which we trample hopelessly toxic. It is quite difficult to
come up with an accurate number of the number of individual toxins in our immediate
environment, but conservative estimates cap the figure at 700,000. Yes, 700k
toxins squabbling to find a way into your system and wreak havoc. In fact, the
Global Healing Center estimates that you could get exposed to as many as 2.1
million toxins in a single day. Whoa!

What to do?

Our biology is highly complex. Our bodies have tons of ways
of getting rid of poisonous compounds acquired via inhalation or consumption of
substances. However, with such an alarming number of toxins all around us, it
is always plausible that some poisonous elements will work their way into our
systems. The good news is that there are ways to detoxify, and most of them
have always proved effective. You are going to have to choose between juice and
detox water, and whatever you go for needs to be informed by science.

Let’s take a look at the two major options...

Detox Water...Healthy, Delicious, And Easy To Make

Detox or infused water is water that has been purged of all
toxins. It is also embellished with various ingredients from all sorts of
fruits and vegetables. There are many different types of detox or infused
water, and the distinctions are drawn depending on the composition. While
infused water has multiple flavors, the calories present in the various
ingredients are kept at a minimum or drained altogether.

What Can Detox Water Do For You?

It is known to keep users young

Detox water contains a whole range of antioxidants whose
work is to fend off the action of free floating radicals. These radicals have a
negative effect on the health of your skin, killing cells and leading to premature
aging. When you make use of this water, you are protected because it puts a
wall of defense around your body, making you less vulnerable to a whole host of
aging and cancerous agents.

One of the biggest advantages of using infused water is that
it keeps your diet even. The products in there come with suppressed calorie
composition, which means that you won’t have to worry about piling on the
pounds regardless of how much of the beverage you take.

It keeps your diet interesting

Drinking plain water does not give you the exhilarating feeling that
a fruit cocktail would come with.
However, infused water comes with all sorts of interesting ingredients that
have your taste buds positively beaming. You can tinker with as many ingredients
as possible as long as the calorie compositions are controlled. The presence of
flavors in there also gives you the impetus to drink more water, which can only
be good for your overall health.

A Downside To Infused Water?

It has been argued that taking detox water that has
significant levels of acidic compounds could lead to teeth decay. This is
however only possible if you take outrageous amounts of the beverage.

Is Juice Better Than Infused Water?

There are as many juices in the world as there are fruits
and vegetables. These beverages can either be commercial or homemade.

Pros Of Juices...

A goldmine of helpful components

They contain a ton of helpful minerals and vitamins that go into
helping with growth and development.

Juices are delicious

Juices come loaded with a good amount of delicious and exquisitely smelling
substances, so you are naturally pulled into trying them. As long as you take
the right juices, you will never want for vitamins and nutrients.

Cons Of Juices...

Too many calories

Juices come with a truckload of calories and sugars, and you
don’t want to go there if you are working toward a constant, healthy and
manageable weight.

Takes too much time to prepare

It will take you an average of 5 minutes to prepare a juice
while detox water can be whipped up in a matter of seconds. This screams convenience.

Verdict

While juices taste good and all that, nothing beats a tall drink of detox water in the middle of a
hot, busy day. It gets absorbed in body faster, keeps you feeling great and
sees to it that you don’t rack up the sugars.
