Shakeology
Shakeology, is without question, my favorite superfood supplement. In fact, you can say it was a superfood supplement before they became cool. Shakeology, produced by Beachbody has been around for years. According to Beachbody...
That description sums up the main benefits of Shakeology, but there are a few important missing points. Here are a few more reasons why Shakeology is my preferred superfood supplement, with one major downside.
- It is organic, with vegan options, contains phytonutrients, antioxidants, pre and probiotcs, fiber, vitamins, and minerals
- Its also a meal replacement. With 140 calories per serving, with 19g of carbs, and 16g of protein, it not only contains powerful micronutrients, but marcros as well.
- The 16g of protein make Shakeology a great superfood powder with plenty of protein too. Most dedicated superfood powders only have 20-50 calories with minimal protein per serving.
- Shakeology comes in a variety of flavors, and they are really good. Much better tasting than most superfood powders that just taste like grass
Since I stay active with consistent exercise, i like to supplement my diet with a protein powder/meal replacement. Getting extra healthy calories and protein is important and I simply love the convenience of supplements. Therefore, if I could could combine a meal replacemtn/protein shake WITH the benefits of superfoods, I'm all in. Shakeology provides this. In addition, the variety of flavors are amazing, and they actually taste good. Most superfood powders I've tried taste like grass, so having a good flavor is really nice.
However, for as good as Shakeology is, its hard to look past the cost. At $129 per bag (with 30 servings), its hard to justify the benefits with such a high price. Although you can become a team Beachbody member and purchase Shakeology at a discount, its still $97 per bag, and well above what most people consider spending on a supplement, regardless of how good it is.
Amazing Green Grass Superfood
Shakeology is my first choice, but the price is simply too high. So after trying a variety of different superfood powders I finally settled on Amazing Grass Green Superfood. It does not have anywhere near the quality taste of Shakeology, so I'll either chug it down quick or mix it in a protein powder to mask the poor taste.
Although this is my preferred superfood powder, I found that most of the choices available on Amazon are really similar. Similar taste, ingredients, and similar prices. My choice of Amazing Grass Green Superfood was made primarily based on taste.
Some of the best mixers to mask the taste include orange juice, protein powder, coffee, mix with your favorite smoothie, or just take it as a quick shot. I actually prefer drinking it quick like a shot, but mixing with another drink may be helpful to you.
As you can see, superfoods are an important part of everyone’s diet, and the absolute best way to get the benefits of these super healthy foods is to include a superfood powder in your diet. They take all of the guesswork out of trying to add these foods to your diet and make it easy to improve your health.
More than just a source of vitamins, these powders include fiber, phytonutrients, minerals, and antioxidants. When included in a healthy diet, these superfood powders are a wonderful way to improve your overall health.
